In the presence of the highest state leadership, the commencement of works on the construction of the National Football Stadium with belonging facilities on the territory of the City municipality Surčin in Belgrade was made official, with Millennium Team as the contractor. The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, the Minister of Finance, Siniša Mali, and other officials visited the location where the National Stadium will be located, and the commencement of the works was made official by laying a ball with signatures and lowering it into the foundations.

The new National Football Stadium will be located in the municipality of Surčin, 15 km from Belgrade. The Stadium capacity will be 52,000 seats, and the area of the National Stadium compound will cover 32 hectares. According to the agreement, the completion of the facility is planned for the end of December 2026.

The Republic of Serbia is financing the project, while the Employer is the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia. Building Directorate of Serbia is the Engineer, whereas Millennium Team is the contractor, in partnership with Power Construction Corporation of China, and in addition to joint performance, we also have a joint project management agreement.

Millennium Team proudly points out that it is part of the largest construction site in this part of Europe and Serbia, where the National Football Stadium and EXPO 2027 are being constructed.

A total of 120,000 m2 of concrete will be installed in the National Stadium, of which 25,000 m2 is for 2,379 piles with a total length of 55 km. A unique green facade will cover an area of 5,000 m2 in three central facade levels. The stadium roof will rest on a steel structure with a total weight of 19,000 tons, formed by a ring with a circumference of 718 metres with 44 40-metre-high pillars around the stadium. The national football stadium in Surčin will be constructed according to the highest FIFA and UEFA standards, which will enable it to qualify for the organisation of the highest rank matches. The facility will be constructed in accordance with green and sustainable construction standards and requirements, with the application of the most contemporary technological solutions and the use of renewable energy sources.
