Demining sector participated in a security conference

The demining sector of the Millennium Team company took part in the 8th international scientific and professional conference “Security and crisis management – theory and practice”, which was held in Sremska Kamenica at the end of September.

Together with colleagues from the region, the demining team of the Millennium Team presented its state-of-the-art equipment that it uses in the field when examining surfaces for the potential presence of unexploded ordnance, and presented a demonstration exercise “Humanitarian Demining Procedures for EOR Removal”.

As part of the conference, Đorđe Krunić, head of operations in the demining sector, together with colleagues from the Demining Center of the Republic of Serbia, presented a scientific paper on the topic “Improving infrastructure works by removing explosive remnants of war”.

The international conference ‘Security and crisis management – theory and practice’, organized by the Regional Association for Security and Crisis Management from Belgrade and the EDUCONS University from Sremska Kamenica, gathered a large number of representatives of the profession and students of security. The goal of the conference was to bring together knowledge from all areas of security and crisis management and bring together scientists and experts from different fields who can offer solutions to problems.

The demining sector of the Millennium Team has 14 systems for depth imaging of the terrain, 60 demining detectors up to 0.50m deep and remote-controlled demining machines marked MV-10.

The demining team of the Millennium Team has so far examined more than 25,000,000.00 square meters of terrain that has been recorded and examined for the existence of certain UXO (unexploded ordnance), and on that occasion around 20,000 different types of UXO have been found. The work that is carried out in the field during humanitarian demining is a high-risk task, so we secure the locations where demining is carried out according to the International Standards for mine action, with the application of all safety measures and the use of personal protective equipment for deminers’ work in the field.
