Investment in tourism: Vranjska Banja Resort is the largest current project in the South of Serbia

Vranjska Banja Resort is the largest project of Marriott International in the Balkans and the largest investment in tourism by Millennium Resorts.

As the most important project in the field of spa tourism that is currently being developed in Serbia, it was presented at the III Investment Conference “Spas and Climate Regions” held within the Expo 2020 world event in Dubai, organized by the Serbian Development Agency. The goal was to introduce foreign investors to the potential of the spa tourism sector that Serbia offers, as well as examples of good practice of current projects.

The company Millennium Resorts recognized the potential of the health resort and, by investing in Vranjska Banja, decided to build and bring to it the largest US brand in the hotel industry.

“Because of all the natural beauty it has, hot and healing waters, excellent location and good climate, we decided to invest in Vranjska Banja and position it on the tourist map. We will build two hotels of the US Marriott chain, suites, bungalows, Sofka Medical Center. I am convinced that in a couple of years, Vranjska Banja will be able to overshadow many famous spa resorts and health resorts in Europe,” said Ivan Bošnjak, CEO of Millennium Resorts, which has already started investing EUR 90 million in Vranjska Banja.

The first phase of the investment consists of works on the Westin Hotel, which will be the most modern hotel of the Marriott brand, spanning 40,000 m2 and a SPA center spanning 4,000 m2.

The entire tourist complex project will consist of the Westin 4* and King Peter I hotels by Autograph Collection 5*, the Sofka Medical Center, as well as villas and bungalows. In all facilities, there will be a total of about 10,000 m2 of SPA facilities, which will make Vranjska Banja stand out.

Vranjska Banja, which used to be synonymous with “royal”, through investment and renovation will be made available again to tourists and all nature lovers, who will be able to enjoy the benefits of healing water, as well as the natural beauties of Southern Serbia.
