At The St. Regis Belgrade Hotel, a cooperation agreement was officially signed between the companies Danube Riverside d.o.o. Belgrade and Marriott International, which officially marked the arrival of the prestigious hotel brand The Ritz-Carlton in Serbia. This solemn event was attended by representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Embassy of the United States of America, representatives of the City of Belgrade, tourist organizations and numerous distinguished guests from the world of business and tourism. On that occasion, representatives of the companies ceremonially formalized the beginning of cooperation with their signatures and emphasized the importance of the project for the development of Belgrade as a luxury destination. “We are honored to have been able to bring The Ritz-Carlton to Serbia together with Marriott International. On the site of the former hotel ‘Yugoslavia’, we will build a luxury complex that will become a new symbol of Belgrade and an attraction for tourists from all over the world. This project not only revitalizes a historic place, but also brings a modern vision of Belgrade, combining tradition, innovation and luxury. With an investment of almost EUR 500 million, we are confident that this complex will put Belgrade on the global map of luxury destinations and further strengthen its international reputation”, said Ivan Bošnjak, Deputy General Manager of Millennium Team and representative of Danube Riverside. We expect that this project will contribute to the further development of Belgrade, the development of our tourist and hospitality offer, and thus to the overall economic progress. Today, Serbia is a rapidly developing country, which has an investment rating, is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe and records record inflows of foreign direct investment. In the coming period, we will continue to attract investors, create new jobs, improve the quality of life of citizens and build an even better and more beautiful Serbia.” The Ritz-Carlton Belgrade, which will open its doors to guests in 2027, will be part of an impressive residential-commercial complex on the site of the former hotel “Yugoslavia”. The planned luxury hotel will feature 193 elegantly decorated rooms and suites, The Ritz-Carlton Club experience, two unique restaurants, a spa and fitness center, an indoor swimming pool, as well as more than 1,700 square feet of event and meeting space.
In addition to the hotel, the complex will also include a residential and business tower, a modern pedestrian corridor that will connect Nikola Tesla Boulevard with the promenade along the Danube, a marina for receiving boats, as well as a landscaped coastline. The total value of the project is estimated at almost EUR 500 million, which will transform the space of the former hotel “Yugoslavia” into a modern destination that combines innovative design, high quality standards and respect for the cultural heritage of Belgrade.
