The location for the construction of facilities for the realization of the International Specialized Exhibition EXPO Belgrade 2027 with accompanying facilities on the territory of the city municipality of Surčin in Belgrade, is located about 15 km from the center of Belgrade and 5 km from the local airport „Nikola Tesla”.
The scope of works includes all works within the unit E1, divided into two phases. The total area of unit E1 is about 83.1 ha, of which the area of Phase I is about 77.1 ha, while the area of Phase II is about 6 ha. Unit E1 is intended for exhibitions and multifunctional spaces for the organization of national and international events: exhibitions and congresses of the highest national importance. Other units that make up the EXPO 2027 complex are unit E2 – supporting accommodation facilities and unit E3 – supporting commercial facilities.
In accordance with the organization of work and assumed future development needs, indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces, a total of seven exhibition halls, and an administrative building have been designed in the central part closer to the northeast access road. Part of the complex consists of two storage facilities, a technical building – power supply unit and two electrical substation facilities.
In the central part of the plot, in the area between two rows of halls, in the zone of dominant pedestrian traffic, the main pedestrian area, the promenade, is planned, which will connect both the units within the complex and the amenities on the neighboring plots. This covered and naturally ventilated urban street is planned to have contemporary urban furniture, water mirrors. The covering is planned with pergolas, which with their dynamic and playful forms will emphasize the attractiveness of the architectural expression of the complex as a whole.
Squares are planned along the promenade, the main flow of pedestrian movement within the complex, thus providing the space for a large number of activities, organizing events.
