At the business panel “Strategic Partnership for the Future”, held as part of the Day of America Conference in Belgrade 2025, Ivan Bošnjak, Deputy General Manager of Millennium Team, presented the Danube Riverside project – a modern complex to be built on the banks of the Danube, on the border between Novi Beograd and Zemun. The conference took place on September 19 in the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, organized by The Serbian-American Friendship Congress (SAFC).
Bošnjak emphasized that the decision to launch the Danube Riverside project – which includes the construction of the first The Ritz-Carlton hotel in this part of Europe, as well as the Millennium Resorts complex in Vranjska Banja – was driven by the company’s desire to invest its knowledge, experience, and resources, as well as the profits gained over 22 years of successful operations, into projects that bring lasting value.
“Danube Riverside will become a new symbol of Belgrade, setting fresh standards in residential living and hospitality while transforming this part of the city between Novi Beograd and Zemun. The complex has been designed to be visually unique – a place tourists will want to photograph and take with them as a memory of Belgrade. At the same time, it will offer Belgrade residents a new meeting place with a well-planned promenade along the Danube, restaurants, and shops. Moreover, those who live, work, or stay in the complex will enjoy the highest standards of comfort and design that such a space can offer,” Bošnjak said.
He added that Millennium Team’s partner is Marriott International, which recognized the value of the company’s vision and began its cooperation with the Millennium Resort project in Vranjska Banja, where two of Marriott’s renowned hotel brands – Westin and Autograph Collection – will open.
“Millennium Resort will revitalize tourism in Vranjska Banja, create new jobs, raise the level of hospitality services, and attract international guests to the spa with the hottest thermal waters in Europe,” Bošnjak noted, adding that Marriott’s investment in Vranjska Banja represents their largest project in the Balkans, confirming the seriousness of this partnership and the shared ambitions driving it.
Alongside representatives of Millennium Team, panel participants included Tipten Troidl, Commercial Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, and Dušan Borovčanin, Advisor to the CEO of EXPO 2027, with Vladimir Marinković, President of the of Serbian-American Friendship Congress, serving as moderator.
As part of Day of America in Belgrade, special awards from the Serbian-American Friendship Congress were presented to Millennium Team directors Stojan Vujko and Ivan Bošnjak for their contributions to strengthening bilateral cooperation between Serbia and the United States.
The Danube Riverside Company was an official partner of this important event, which was held in Belgrade for the fourth consecutive year. The congress gathered representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, the Ohio National Guard, members of parliament, business leaders, and representatives of public institutions and the NGO sector.
