Millennium Team has signed on as a sponsor of the European Judo Union (EJU). During a marketing event held by the EJU in Belgrade, the sponsorship agreement was signed by Laszlo Toth, President of the EJU; Ivan Todorov, Vice President of the EJU and President of the Judo Federation of Serbia; and by Stojan Vujko, General Manager of Millennium Team.
Millennium Team will be the first sponsor in the 75-year history of this organization under which future European competitions will be named, specifically all within the cadet tour.
For the first time in EJU history, a simultaneous signing of contracts with leading sponsors of this sports organization has been organized, and from 2025, Millennium Team will be a proud member of the sponsorship team.
Stojan Vujko emphasized that Millennium Team has been dedicated to socially responsible activities since its founding.
“As the General Manager of the company, I believe that responsibility towards the community in which we operate is one of the mainstays of our business. By investing in young talent, we promote the true values that judo represents. At Millennium Team, we recognize that we share the same values as judo: dedication, hard work, discipline, and respect for our partners, along with the ability and desire to change and do something better for this world. Millennium Team and judo are the perfect match that will endure for a long time. I can still learn a lot from judo personally, and I hope that judo will motivate other athletes, showing them how to relate to their opponents and to the sport itself,” Vujko emphasized.
“He added that Millennium Team supports projects in the fields of education and ecology, but the company is particularly dedicated to investing in sports.
“We are the general sponsor of the Judo Club Crvena Zvezda, which has achieved impressive results on both the domestic and foreign competitive scene. I can rightly say that Judo Club Crvena Zvezda is the driving force behind Serbian judo,” said Vujko.
At the press conference held at the Hyatt hotel in Belgrade after the signing of the sponsorship agreements, Laszlo Toth, President of the EJU, thanked Millennium Team for its support and stated: “Serbia is one of the key mainstays of the European Judo Union, and we are proud of its contribution. It gives us even greater pleasure to know that Ivan Todorov was elected as the new Vice President of the EJU for Marketing at the EJU Ordinary Congress. Todorov has been the President of the Judo Federation of Serbia for 24 years and is also a top competitor and Olympian. We believe that this collaboration will bring many opportunities for further development and promotion of the sport of judo.”
Ivan Todorov emphasized that it is from Belgrade that the groundwork is being laid for the next four-year Olympic cycle and the Los Angeles Games.
“We are sending a beautiful message from Belgrade. All members of the European Judo Union are starting a new Olympic cycle, together with partners. In addition to renewing contracts with our old partners, I owe special gratitude to Millennium Team, which has recognized judo and will help develop young talents in particular, especially through all competitions within the European Judo Tour that will carry the name Millennium Team European Cup” emphasized Ivan Todorov.
