The bypass around Gornji Milanovac, a project done in consortium of Millennium Team and Mostogradnja ING, was opened to traffic on Friday, October 4. The ceremony was attended by the Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who emphasized that the foundation of this project is the vision of modern Serbia, a country that invests everything in its future and cares for its citizens.
“Only by believing in ourselves and our abilities can we build a modern Serbia. And we will succeed in doing so as much as we stay true to who we are. This road is key for our growth, it brings us higher wages and pensions, and it is essential for our progress,” Vučić pointed out.
As he said, Serbia is being built and, as far as it is possible under current global circumstances, it is ready to welcome the future. He expressed gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese friends, without whom, as he noted, this could not have been done.
“This was not just a construction task. This project, worth over 30 million euros, demanded effort, dedication and hard work of many people, who tirelessly worked through winter, heat, rain and wind, so that we could stand before you today and proudly say that this will remain as a legacy for future generations,” said the president.
The newly designed section LOT-1 will connect Ibar Highway and Klatičevo, and will also represent part of the ring road around Gornji Milanovac. The total length of that route is 4.78 km. The road in question begins at the new roundabout in Gornji Milanovac, and formally ends at the roundabout in Klatičevo.
LOT 2 represents the complete reconstruction of the existing State Road II A order number 177 and at the same time connects the roundabout in Klatičevo and the grade intersection with the highway “Miloš Veliki” in the town of Takovo. The total length of the route is 4.70 km.
