Construction of Sewer Network Begins in Ćićevac

The beginning of a new phase of the “Clean Serbia” project was marked in Ćićevac, in the presence of representatives from the local government and construction contractors. Over the next three years, a sewer network and a wastewater treatment plant are planned to be built in this municipality, addressing one of the biggest issues in Ćićevac and surrounding areas.

This municipality currently does not have a single meter of sewer network, but plans include the construction of 61 kilometers of this infrastructure. The project’s total value is nearly 28 million euros.
The commencement of works was attended by the municipal president of Ćićevac, Mirjana Krkić and representatives of the Chinese construction corporation CRBC. The company Millennium Team has been engaged in this project in partnership with CRBC.

Currently, less than 60% of the population in our country is connected to a sewer system, and less than 10% of treated wastewater is purified. This issue will be resolved through the implementation of the “Clean Serbia” project, significantly increasing the coverage of sewer networks and wastewater treatment systems.

The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Construction, Transport, and Infrastructure, and is financed by the Republic of Serbia. Millennium Team, in collaboration with the Chinese company CRBC, is already engaged in work on this project at a total of seven locations across Serbia – Vranje, Svrljig, Kučevo, Doljevac, Inđija and Ćićevac.
