Millennium Team, which has been a sponsor of the Chess Federation of Serbia for many years, was the sponsor of the 4th international chess tournament Serbia Open 2024. The finals of this sports event were held in the “Metropol Palace” hotel in Belgrade, and Millennium Team said that they are “proud of their long-standing friendship with the Chess Federation of Serbia”.

“It brings me great pleasure to be here with you today, at the closing ceremony of the International Chess Tournament Serbia Open. Millennium Team believes in the power of sports to connect people and for that reason we continuously invest in various sports events and projects that contribute to the development and popularization of sports in our country. Millennium Team has been with the Chess Federation of Serbia for years and we will continue to contribute together to promote this planetary game and to create new opportunities for our chess players” said Aleksandra Adžić, head of corporate communications of Millennium Team.

The fourth international summer chess tournament called “Serbia Open 2024” was held from 12 – 21 July in the “Metropol Palace” hotel in Belgrade, and 463 participants from as many as 36 countries took part in it. At this sports event, 13 different tournaments were played with a total prize fund worth more than 35,000 euros.

The award ceremony was held in the “Ivo Andrić” hall of the “Metropol Palas” hotel in Belgrade, and was attended by the president of CFS Dragan Lazić, who presented the awards and congratulated the participants on their achievements.

Eltai Safari from Azerbaijan won the tournament in the Master section, Ariel Ehrenberg from Israel won the second place, while the Italian Sabino Brunelli took the third place. Bat-Erden Mungunzul from Mongolia won the “gold” in the women’s category, second place went to Josephine Heinemann from Germany, and third place went to Marina Gajčin from Serbia.
